Field Engineer

Dixon Marine Services, Inc. (DMS) has an immediate opening for a Field Engineer with a Civil Engineering or Construction Management background to support our Oceanographic and Wetland Restoration Division. The successful candidate will apply his/her engineering background to field engineering questions as it pertains to dredging, heavy civil construction, stream restoration, excavation, and sediment dewatering. The position will include providing engineering support for environmental mitigation projects, water quality monitoring programs, environmental dredging projects and marine sediment investigations. The candidate will manage project schedules, maintain daily logs for projects, manage submittals and change orders. Participate in weekly construction progress meetings and support the estimating activities 

 Qualifications:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management  
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Competent in basic AutoCAD
  • Competent in Word and Excel
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work with diverse work force
  • Enjoyment of working outside in diverse settings
  • Strong scheduling skills
  • Ability to interface with owner’s representative and regulatory agencies
  • Must be a self-starter and have a strong work ethic
  • Willing to travel throughout the west.

Dixon Marine Services is an Oceanographic and Wetland Restoration firm specializing in wetland habitat restoration, environmental dredging projects and remediation of contaminated sediments. We are a group of scientist, engineers and operating engineers dedicated to the restoration of wetlands. Our headquarter is in Inverness, CA located on the west shore of Tamales Bay. Our job sites span four states.  We employ professionals and are partners with two separate Unions.  Our clients range from multi-national conglomerates to local non-profits.
