Project Engineer

Dixon Marine Services, Inc. (DMS) is an Oceanographic and Wetland Restoration firm specializing in wetland habitat restoration, water quality monitoring, and sediment investigation. Our headquarters is located in Inverness, CA located on the west shore of Tomales Bay. Our job sites span four states.  We employ professionals and are partners with two separate Unions.  Our clients range from multi-national conglomerates to local non-profits. 

DMS has an immediate opening for a Project Civil Engineer to support our Oceanographic and Wetland Restoration Division. The successful candidate will apply his/her engineering background to field engineering questions as it pertains to dredging, heavy civil construction, stream restoration, excavation, and sediment dewatering. The position will include providing engineering support for environmental mitigation projects, water quality monitoring programs and environmental dredging projects and marine sediment investigations. 

 Qualifications:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Construction experience in Heavy Civil or Marine construction
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Competent in basic AutoCAD
  • Competent in Word and Excel
  • Hypack or other navigational programs a plus

Core Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Supporting estimating
  • Managing Environmental Construction or Dredging projects
  • Maintain Daily Logs for all Active Job Sites
  • Manage Budgets & Schedules
  • Manage Submittals and Change Orders
  • Run weekly construction meetings
  • Interact with Owners Representative and Regulatory Agencies
  • Must be a self-starter and have a strong work ethic
  • Willing to travel throughout the Western Seaboard
  • Bathymetric survey skills and water quality instrumentation experience welcomed
