VIBRACORE & MARINE SEDIMENT SAMPLING

DMS has developed a complete line of sediment sampling systems in support of the engineering and dredging community.  Our sediment sampling services include, but are not limited to:  Vibracores, Van Veen Grab, Ponar Dredge, and Push Cores. We provide the equipment and personnel to collect samples from a wide spectrum of aquatic environments.  Our principle sampling technique is continuous core sampling utilizing Vibracore heads from 4 to 6 inches in size to penetrate sediment up to 20 feet in depth.  Our system is equipped with a quadropod stand which allows the vibracore to be stable on the sea bottom and operate without the need of anchoring the vessel. We utilize a variety of different vessels to ensure the fast and safe extraction of sediments:

Our sediment sampling services are supported by a robust navigation system using Hypack(TM).  This system allows us to enter the proposed sediment sample location into our navigation system prior to mobilization and provides the capability for recording the actual sample location. We are able to import AutoCAD drawings of the project into HYPACK which acts as a reference of the foot print of the project. Our Team is comfortable dealing with contaminated sediments and is Hazwoper trained.
