RICHMOND INNER HARBOR SEDIMENT SAMPLINGRichmond, CAClient: Contra Costa CountyPeriodic dredging is required in Richmond Inner Harbor to allow deep draft vessels from running aground in the channel. DMS was responsible for taking 17 core samples along the channel to provide data about the physical & chemical characteristics of the sediment in order to determine where the dredge spoils could be deposited. DMS used the R/V Lakota and her 6" Pneumatic Vibracore Head to perform the work. Each sample location was determined using the Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS), all samples were 4" in diameter and a depth of 15'.
